History shows that our industry continues to struggle with a few key design and installation problems regarding residential HVAC equipment.
* Oversizing equipment
* Inadequate air flow
* Improper refrigerant charge
* Duct leakage
Having worked as HVAC installer, service technician, designer, educator and consultant, it’s frustrating to see these problems continue to surface. The difference today is that the industry is focusing more on “quality” in design and installation, with a goal to eliminate these issues.
Over the next several months, I’ll share resources, information and opinions on industry performance and the ACCA (Air Conditioning Constractors of America) initiatives for Quality Installation.
I hope you find it interesting and helpful as we discuss the challenges related to raising the performance bar. Feel free to share your thoughts.
