Real World HVAC has a talented group of professionals, all of whom collaborate with other HVAC professionals within the HVAC industry in the design and development of our educational programs and services.
Dave Swett designs, develops and provides technical training and consulting for Real World HVAC. Dave graduated with a degree in HVAC technology from Southeast Community College in Milford Nebraska and Business/Economics from Park College in Kansas City Missouri. He has been involved in the HVAC and electric utility industry for over 30 years. During that time he has worked as an installation and service technician in the residential, commercial and industrial segments of the industry. He’s also developed and provided HVAC technical training throughout the Midwest for the past 25 years. Dave has been involved in the building science industry for a number of years and is an energy rater.
Dave has an extensive background in and is certified by ACCA to teach residential HVAC system design. He maintains numerous certifications from RSES, NATE and other industry organizations and is an active and “life” member of the NATE national technical committee. Dave also participates on several curriculum advisory boards for technical and community colleges. He also collaborates on numerous ACCA technical committees in developing and/or updating standards and guidelines for the HVAC industry.
Casey Swett designs and develops technical training and manages the IT, webinar and video support functions for Real World HVAC. Casey attended Metro Community College in Omaha Nebraska. He has been involved with design, installation and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical and electronic process and control systems in the residential, commercial and industrial markets for the last 15 years. He has an extensive background in VFD motor controls, process and production automation and PLC system design, programming and diagnostics. Casey has a broad background in the design, installation and oversight of commercial/industrial plant automation projects, HVAC maintenance and service, data acquisition systems, surveillance, security access, fire control and instrumentation systems.
Casey has also provided design, development and installation direction for commercial HVAC system zoning control systems. During his career, he has completed numerous advanced training certification programs including LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Safety Management, SCADA software systems, PLC application and programming, network and control system integration programs and Microsoft Systems training. He has also developed and facilitated numerous training programs for maintenance & service technicians, plant mechanics and IT support staff.
Kim Wear manages all sales and marketing functions for Real World HVAC. Kim graduated from Bellevue University in Omaha Nebraska with a degree in leadership. She develops and directs our customer relationship programs and manages all service and communication enterprises. Kim has over 25 years experience within the electric utility industry with a focus on HVAC marketing, sales, training and trade-ally relationship management.
During her career, Kim has participated in the design and development of HVAC technical training programs focused on heat pumps, air distribution systems and equipment capacity and performance verification. She also specializes in social media management and has a diverse background in educational programs for demand-side management, energy efficiency and building science.
To honor and remember: John (Big John) Sigerson was a long time member of our team. He passed away in October of 2014 after a battle with cancer, but his influence and expertise still impact our programs. John was a respected professional in all facets of the HVAC industry during his 30 year career. John had a degree in HVAC technology, was a well liked and highly valued field service representative for the O’Connor Company in Omaha Nebraska, and the author of numerous NATE testing preparatory CDs that are still distributed nationally. He was a 20 year CM and CMS member of RSES, an active and “life” member of the NATE national technical committee and a two-time recipient of the prestigious Trane “Carver Award,” provided for excellence in training. He remains a mentor, true friend and a guiding presence in our organization.
